Tour Itinerary

Day 1 -Welcome to Scotland

Whether you arrive at Glasgow or Edinburgh airport, you’ll enjoy a private transfer to St Andrews with our trusted local shuttle company. With the drive lasting a little over an hour, you can relax and enjoy the wonderfully scenic rolling hills and farmlands that make Central Scotland and Fife so grand.

Upon arrival into St Andrews and after checking into your hotel, Kevin will meet you at The Old Course for a mini tour and introduction. Following the introduction and tour of St Andrews Kevin will then take you for a round on the famous Himalayas Putting green setting you up nicely for the week ahead.

Day 2 -Play “The New Course” & Tour Eden Whisky Mills Whisky

A ‘full Scottish’ breakfast awaits you every morning. Be tempted to order the ‘haggis’ along with your sausages, eggs, bacon, baked beans and tomatoes. ‘Haggis’ is a traditional Scottish seasoning that will remind you of a Thanksgiving stuffing your grandma used to make you eat!

Considered by many locals to be better than The Old Course at St Andrews, The New Course is the perfect introduction to links golf. By new, we mean it was built by Tom Morris in 1895. Anything less than 150 years old in Scotland is new! Yet don’t be fooled by its name. This course is a true test of links golf and allows you to experience the wonderful view of the Eden Estuary and tight fairways that will test every aspect of your mid irons.

At the 18th green of ‘the New’ golf course, you enter the St Andrews Links Clubhouse and buy authentic St. Andrews merchandise and dine in the elegant yet informal Swilcan Restaurant where you can view golfers playing both courses as you reminisce your own New Course experience.

Eden Mill Whisky & Craft Beer Tour
After dropping off the golf clubs at the hotel, our trusted tour guide will pick you up for a private whisky tour and tasting at Eden Mill, a 10 minute drive from St. Andrews. The award winning IPA range of craft beers and blended scotch whiskeys makes Eden Mill one of the local favorites and hidden gems. Dating back to 1810, the legendary Haig distillers first began this distillery and after a superb refurbishment several years ago, you'll be most impressed visiting Eden Mill.

Day 3 -Play “The Old Course”

Playing The Old Course after the New Course helps you settle into the Scottish links conditions and hopefully you can enjoy the course more and post a great score. Well, that's the theory! The early morning walk to 'the Old' golf course, the excitement and anticipation whilst waiting for the starter to call your name and of course the guidance of your caddie should you request one during your round all make this a truly memorable experience.

Your Old Course pilgrimage will start in the early hours, the excitement of playing the Old Course means sleeping will be difficult anyway. Staying just yards from the course, you will make your way down to the ‘Old Pavilion’ for some practice putts. Here you are, looking at the Royal and Ancient Clubhouse, looking over the 18th fairway remembering the past winners at St Andrews like Tiger Woods, John Daly, Zach Johnson, Nick Faldo, Seve Ballesteros and Jack Nicklaus. Wow... what a feeling. Remember to take photos as it's a special moment you'll want to rekindle that feeling for years to come.

After your round of golf, head up the road 100 yards to the famous Dunvegan Hotel for a pint of Scotland's finest ale, and admire the photographs and memorabilia on the walls of the Dunvegan Hotel which tell the history of the golf at St Andrews.

Day 4 -Visit Dewar's Whisky Distillery

Today, you're driving through the verdant rolling hills of Fife to Aberfeldy in Perthshire and visiting the distillery of Dewar's Scotch Whisky, one of the world's most recognizable brands and Scotland's premier whisky museum.

Before your whisky tour, enjoy the cinema style surround sound museum complete with an interactive exhibition and videos.

The drive from St Andrews to Aberfeldy takes around 90 minutes. You will drive over the Tay Road Bridge leading through the city of Dundee followed by the picturesque towns of Blairgowrie, seeing the Cairngorm mountain ranges before eventually arriving in Aberfeldy for your whisky tour and tasting.

Day 5 -Play “Kingsbarns” & Tour Kingsbarns Distillery

Today you’re in for a visual treat at Fife’s most picturesque links golf course. Despite only being 16 years old Kingsbarns has won many top awards and is a permanent fixture on the European Tour as part of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Tour Professional Graeme McDowell describes Kingsbarns as “the only other golf course in the world that compares to Pebble Beach for views and enjoyment”.

Your private transfer will pick you up one hour before your planned tee time. After a short 10 minute drive from St Andrews you’ll arrive within the grounds of the Kingsbarns estate. The facilities are second to none in the area with a sizable practice area, putting green, clubhouse and pro shop.

After your round be sure to visit the clubhouse overlooking the 18th fairway which is perched on the hill providing sweeping 180 degree views of the course and the North Sea as well as high quality local food.

Kingsbarns Distillery Whisky Tasting & Tour
Before heading back to your hotel in to St. Andrews, you will visit the neighbouring Kingsbarns Distillery. Enjoy the private tasting rooms with a dram (or two!) of Wemyss Malts whisky while your guide will explain the distillation methods.

Day 6 -Play “The Jubilee Course” at St Andrews

Your exclusive Scotland golfing trip requires one more sensational and memorable round of links golf. The third championship course at the Home of Golf, the Jubilee at St Andrews is considered by many to be the most challenging course on the famous Links. Built in 1897, it was originally intended for use by ladies and beginners; however, after seeing its prime golfing location between the New Course and the sea, the Jubilee was converted to a championship layout in 1988. You must be accurate off the tee at this most challenging of links courses otherwise a high score is inevitable!

Enjoy your last night in St Andrews with a leisurely pub meal or an upscale restaurant such as Dolls House Restaurant or Forgan's. Both have an sophisticated modern interior with international cuisine from local daily seafood, organic free range meat and locally grown farm vegetables.

Day 7 -Fly Home

In accordance with your flight time, Kevin will arrange to have you picked up in plenty of time. Oh and don't forget to pack your wee whisky!

Kevin's Message

Golf is wonderful yet balance on a holiday is important as well right? My grandfather told me that whisky is only as good as the person you’re drinking with and that’s how us Scots like to encourage golfing visitors to enjoy drinking the famous Scotch Whisky. This package is for those golfers who love the game yet also are passionate about the art of Scotch whisky and local craft beers in Scotland.

Package Notes

The round on “The Old Course” is subject to availability and is therefore not guaranteed. If we have no guaranteed tee-times available for your chosen dates we will enter you into the daily ballot and if that fails we will have another St Andrews course arranged for you to play.
