Tour Itinerary

Day 1 -Welcome to Scotland & Play “Gullane #1”

Whether you arrive at Glasgow or Edinburgh airport, you’ll enjoy a private transfer to North Berwick with our trusted local shuttle company. With the drive lasting no more than 45 minutes with traffic (strike that, make it 30 minutes as there is no traffic in Scotland!!), you can enjoy the views of Edinburgh as your private car will drive around Edinburgh to Links Road and then onto the scenic A198 which hugs the coastline of the Firth of Forth past the Gullane Golf Course and Muirfield.
Gullane #1 hosted the 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open and has also previously hosted Local Final Qualifying for the Open Championship at neighbouring Muirfield. It's a cracking golf course. Hitting off the first hole from a roadside tee, the passerby may mistake the Par 4 as somewhat pedestrian yet the anticipation builds as the upsloping 2nd hole with only 400 yards gives the golfer that same feeling as climbing up a rollercoaster before the exhilarating rush kicks in. And from the teebox of the 3rd hole, the magnificence of Gullane #1 is unveiled. While ranked #63 by Golf Monthly in their UK & Ireland rankings for 2017/18, we just love this course and George the starter couldn't be more friendly to visitors. Hat tip George!
After a windswept round of golf and excellent walk along the hilltops of Gullane, you'll be glad to have the option of a relaxing meal at the Craigleith Restaurant at the Marine or just order up room service as an early night will be needed.

Day 2 -Play North Berwick West Links

A ‘full Scottish’ breakfast awaits you every morning. Be tempted to order the ‘haggis’ along with your sausages, eggs, bacon, baked beans and tomatoes. ‘Haggis’ is a traditional Scottish seasoning that will remind you of a Thanksgiving stuffing your grandma used to make you eat!
Golf has been played over the historic West Links course since the 17th century with the Club being formed in 1832. This is a fun golf course with a traditional links set up of 9 holes out and 9 holes back to the clubhouse. While the 15th hole par-3 is well known around the world with a blind tee-shot over a valley towards the green which is perched on a hill beyond and tilted away and to the left, our favourite hole on the West Links is the 13th hole where an ancient stone wall fronts a relatively small green.
As the wind comes up on the back 9 holes, you'll receive a welcome introduction to golfing in Scotland courtesty of the wind coming in from the North Sea. Don't be too hard on yourself scoring to your handicap as the scenery looking out to Bass Rock is spectacular.
After your round of golf, a walk around the wee town of North Berwick is a must. The quaint shopping streets, delicatessens and cafes has a somewhat trendy feel to it and a very pleasant town to explore. With 12 local pubs to choose from for a local meal as well as several boutique restaurants, be sure to order the local seafood that is served up daily. Buy yourself a small water coloured painting or handmade pottery souvenir from one of the many craft stores that are such a joy to browse around in.

Day 3 -Play Muirfield Championship Golf Course

Living golf legends Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Nick Faldo and Phil Mickelson have all won Open Championships at Muirfield. A caddy at Muirfield is a must, not only for finding that golf ball, navigating the narrow fairways or helping out of those deep pot bunkers but for the stories they have about past champions. Be sure to ask your trusty caddie about Ernie Els’ brilliant make-or-break bunker shot at the 13th hole in the final round of the 131st Open Golf Championship. You'll be amazed where 'The Big Easy' hit the ball from with his 59 degree sand wedge. No wonder it was judged to be 'The European Tour Shot of the Year for 2002'.
Included in this golf package is the dining room lunch experience inside the Muirfield Club House. Jacket and tie is required for the 3 course carvery sit down lunch. Enjoy freshly carved beef, pork and lamb from the grill along with a generous helping of vegetables and selection of gravy and locally made mustards. Enjoy the company of the members the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers and trade stories with them about your unforgettable shots out of the historic links. Before you leave the clubhouse, visit the salon to see the golfing memorabilia adorning the walls and inside the glass cabinets. A history of golf is waiting for you to explore.
After your round of golf, head into the wee town of Gullane 500 yards away where at the Gullane Pro Shop you can buy official merchandise of the Muirfield Championship Golf Course and enjoy a fine Scottish Ale at The Golf Inn located in the centre of town. If you feel like relaxing and reading the newspaper, the adjoining Greywalls Hotel next to Muirfield Championship Golf Course serves a wonderfully traditional Scottish afternoon tea. Sink into one of the many couches at Greywalls and enjoy tea and scones. The sounds of golf balls being struck off the 10th tee are a poetic chime and through the windows of Greywalls you can see again the wide expanse of Muirfield.

Day 4 -Play Archerfield Fidra Links

Today, you're going to love golf. Fresh from a good nights sleep after conquering Muirfield, your round of golf at Archerfield Links will be a treat treasured for years to come. The journey from your hotel to Archerfield will take no more than 10 minutes but your transfer will pick you up an hour before so you can take advantage of the top class facilities available. The 'Golf Experience' as it's called is the perfect way to finish your East Lothian experience. The Fidra golf course with it's whispering pines and sweeping fairways is a unique mixture of pine forest and fast-running links.

Day 5 -Fly home!

In accordance with your flight time, Kevin will arrange to have you picked up in plenty of time. Oh and don't forget to pack your wee whisky!
